MORE INFORMATION
Finished length of our final edit
Most of our films are 45 minute productions. We feel from our experiences that this is a very enjoyable length for wedding films. We also give the client a copy of the main camera raw footage which is on average about 2.5 to 3 hours long. The client has final say on how long they would like to target their film though. There are certain elements that may help cut down on final edit time like ceremony, toasts, speeches, etc. For example, if the toast is very long, we may suggest to cut the length down for the final edit, then we would put the entire toast version in the BONUS FEATURES section of the DVD.
Type of cameras used
We mostly us SONY brand digital professional cameras. We feel that although they are more expensive than other brands, they provide the best quality picture in our opinions.
How music is chosen
Music is half your film. We encourage the client to give us as many possibilities as they can. specifically we ask what your favorite bands/artists are, your favorite movies, and your favorite songs. From this we create a master palette list to learn more about your musical taste and personality. We sometimes have lists totaling over 100 music ideas and we welcome them all. We also suggest to allow us to use a mixture of instrumental film scores and vocal/pop music. This is very common in motion picture productions.
Payment schedule
We offer the client two options for payment.
1/3 balance to book event, 1/3 balance due 30 days prior to event, remaining balance due to initiate editing process.
Turn around time on final product
Because we are not a cookie cutter type company, we spend a lot more time on the edit of our productions. Typical turn around time ranges from 6 to 8 months. It may be shorter if we have less edits in production at the time.
Types of payment accepted
We accept cash, check, or credit cards.
Capturing audio
Because of my background as a professional musician and live/recording engineer, I consider myself particular about audio. We practice capturing audio through wireless systems. During ceremony, the groom will be mic'd with a discreet lav microphone to capture vows and anything else within 6 feet, we may decide to mic the ceremony speakers if microphones are being used. In addition we always have capability of recording audio directly from the camera shotgun microphone. During reception we always mic the band or DJ speakers and use the camera microphone in combination.
What makes us different
Unlike most video companies, we do not make wedding videos, we make wedding films. Our goal is to produce your wedding film in a way that you will not want to touch the remote control. Every wedding has it's own personality and we edit according to the music and mood of the scene. We want yours to different from anyone else's. We are always learning better techniques and current technology to further our product. Our shooting and editing has won many awards both locally and internationally.
Insurance
We are insured with a $1,000,000 insurance liability policy that
reception halls require.
Travel Fee
Because we are a Long Island based company, we charge a travel fee for events that are not on Long Island. For the tri-state area, our fees range from $150-400 depending on specific locations. We also do destination weddings which would require larger travel fees on a per event basis. Some people ask why we charge these fees. There are many factors including our time, gasoline, tolls, parking, and vehicle wear and tear. We have to factor these elements into running a business like any other business.
